I consider playing the violin to be a very complex thing. Beyond possessing the technical tools, it is the proper use of the human body and the harmony of the spiritual world that together enable the artist to create.
In 2017, after a very difficult period, I encountered the Alexander Technique, which fundamentally changed my way of thinking. It drew my attention to the fact that, when playing an instrument, it is not enough to have the highest level of technical skill and to keep your body in constant good condition. Only the proper use of the body while playing can ensure lifelong, uninterrupted functioning. In Zoltán Hegedűs, I met a very broad-minded Alexander Technique teacher who, with his enormous knowledge and human support, has helped and continues to accompany me on my journey of discovery to this day.
In light of all these experiences, I have completely rebased the method of violin playing, which I apply both in my own playing and in my work with my students, and I feel it is my mission to share this knowledge with as many violinists and violin teachers as possible. The violin methodology based on the Alexander Technique, which has been developing for almost a decade, helps prevent and treat injuries. My Facebook page, Healthy violinist, offers an insight into the secrets of Alexander Technique-based studio work.
